I’m Jennifer and I’m an Investment Manager here at Cairn. I’ve been with the company now for two and a half years, and it’s flown in!

For those of you unfamiliar with what an Investment Manager does, my job involves HMO investment, portfolio management, and sales project management for investor refurbishments.

There are a number of reasons I decided to work in the property industry, one of which is the bubble of the west end student property market. I find really unique and interesting.

And the uniqueness of the industry is what keeps me in it. I love going to work every day, not knowing what it’ll bring. No two days, or properties for that matter, are alike. It never gets boring.

But it’s not just the industry I enjoy working in. I love working for Cairn too. It’s a great company.

The business is so fluid. Everything runs so smoothly and everyone is so organised. The team I work with is a great bunch too, it’s so enthusiastic and friendly. You couldn’t wish for a better bunch of guys to work with.

Lots of people, when they find out what I do for a living, ask me what it’s like. They also ask me about what I’ve seen and experienced – the most unusual thing I’ve seen or come across. Well, it has to be the student’s who, one afternoon, were having sex and didn’t bother to stop while I was conducting a sales viewing. I’d never seen anything like it, and thankfully haven’t ever since!

Away from property I’m quite an active person. I love running. Whenever there’s a charity running event on you’ll usually find me taking part. Nothing better raising money for good causes while doing something that you really enjoy.

And on the theme of what I get up to away from the office, I’m also actually a Rainbow leader, something not a lot of people know about me.
